Landscape management is overwhelming to handle in-house as a property owner or manager, and spring is the pinch point — everything needs attention at once, in a narrow window. We simplify it into one scheduled service that happens shortly after the snow melts and before the grass starts to grow.
Spring clean-ups run for commercial clients across Chesterfield, Macomb, Shelby Township, Rochester, and surrounding areas, typically as the first visit of a grounds maintenance contract.
What the clean-up covers
What winter leaves behind on a commercial site
Snow removal is hard on a property, and the damage shows up the week the snow goes. Salt burn along walks and lot edges, turf scraped by plow blades, matted grass under where piles sat longest, and sand or debris tracked across beds.
Because we run the snow contracts too, the crew doing the spring clean-up knows where the piles were stacked and where the salt concentrated — so those are the areas that get looked at first rather than discovered in June.
Getting ahead of the season
The window between snowmelt and green-up is short, and it is the only time to clear beds and re-cut edges before growth makes the work twice as hard. Properties that miss it spend the rest of the season catching up.
It is also when turf problems are cheapest to fix. Snow mold and salt-damaged edges seeded or repaired in early spring recover in weeks; the same damage found in July is a summer of bare ground.
Common questions
- When does spring clean-up happen?
- As soon after snowmelt as the ground is workable and before the grass starts growing — typically March into April in Southeast Michigan, weather dependent. Contract properties are scheduled in advance so they are not waiting behind one-off calls.
- Does it include salt damage repair?
- The clean-up identifies and documents it. Turf repair — seeding, soil work, or replacement in the worst areas — is scoped from what the walkthrough finds, since the extent varies a lot by winter.
- Is this the same as a grounds contract?
- It is normally the first visit of one. It can be booked as a standalone service, but most commercial clients fold it into the annual agreement that covers mowing, beds, turf care, and the following winter's snow.
- What about the beds and mulch?
- The clean-up clears and re-cuts the beds. Fresh mulch usually follows as a separate line once the beds are cleaned out and edges are re-established.
