Fall Clean-Up & Leaf Removal
Clearing leaves before they smother the lawn — so your turf goes into winter healthy.
Clearing leaves is an essential part of getting a lawn ready for winter. Left in place, matted leaves trap moisture and lead to snow mold and turf disease. On a property with mature trees it gets overwhelming fast — that's where we come in. We run fall clean-ups from October into November, weather dependent, with multiple visits available for maintenance-program clients.
Our typical fall clean-up includes
Cutting back perennials
Trimming wilted daylilies, hostas, ornamental grasses, and the like.
Leaf & debris removal
Blowing and clearing leaves off landscape beds and hard surfaces.
Collection & bagging
Commercial mowers with bagging systems collect what's down.
Final seasonal cut
A last cut to set the lawn up for winter.
Hauled off-site
All grass, leaves, and debris are hauled off to be composted.
Common questions
- When should fall cleanup happen?
- Late October into November for most properties — after the bulk of the leaves are down but before snow. Properties with heavy tree cover often benefit from two passes.
- What happens to the leaves and debris?
- Everything we collect is hauled off-site and composted — nothing is left at the curb or piled on the property.
- Why not just leave the leaves until spring?
- Matted leaves trap moisture against the turf all winter, which invites snow mold and disease. Clearing them is what lets the lawn come back clean in spring.
