Commercial Lawn Mowing & Grass Cutting

The first impression every visitor forms about the property, cut on a schedule you never have to chase.

The presentation of a business property sets the tone for vendors, clients, employees, and everyone else who visits. A lawn that looks sharp week after week reads as a property that is managed; one that gets cut whenever someone remembers reads as one that is not.

We mow HOA, condominium, retail, office, industrial, and multifamily properties across Macomb, Oakland, and St. Clair counties — Chesterfield, Troy, Rochester, Macomb Township, Shelby Township, and surrounding communities — on fixed-contract schedules with an account manager who knows the site.

Each mowing visit includes

Turf cut to the right height
Height adjusted to conditions — taller going into a stretch of unseasonable heat.
Trimming & edging
String-trimmed around obstacles, edged along walks and beds.
Hard surfaces cleared
Clippings blown off patios, sidewalks, and roadways back into the turf.
Bed lines kept clean
Clippings blown out of landscape beds rather than left to mat.
Site walk
Crews flag irrigation breaks, disease, and damage while they're on the property.
Service documentation
A record of each visit for your file, part of the grounds contract.

Mowing height is a maintenance decision, not a setting

Cutting too short is the most common way a commercial lawn gets damaged. Scalped turf loses the leaf area it needs to feed itself, dries out faster, and opens the canopy for weeds — which then get blamed on the fertilization program.

Our crews raise the deck ahead of heat and drought stress and keep blades sharp, because a torn leaf tip browns and a cut one does not. It is the least visible part of the service and the one that decides how the turf looks in August.

Why it is on a contract

Grounds work fails when it is reactive. A fixed-schedule contract means the property gets cut on a cadence tied to growth rate rather than to whoever noticed it needed doing, and the crew that shows up already knows where the sprinkler heads are.

It also means one accountable vendor. The same company handles the mowing, the beds, and the snow, so nobody is pointing at anyone else when something slips.

Common questions

How often will the property be mowed?
Weekly through the main growing season for most commercial properties, adjusted as growth slows in mid-summer heat and again in fall. The schedule is written into the contract rather than left to be decided week to week.
Do you bag or mulch the clippings?
Mulching back into the turf is standard — it returns nutrients and is better for the lawn. Clippings that land on walks, patios, or roadways are blown back into the turf area before the crew leaves.
Who do I call about a specific issue on the property?
A dedicated account manager, not a general line. That is part of how commercial contracts are structured, along with a service record after visits so there's documentation for your file.
Do you handle the rest of the grounds too?
Yes — mowing is typically one line in a full grounds maintenance contract that also covers beds, turf care, seasonal color, and clean-ups, with snow and ice on the same agreement through winter.
