Hydroseeding
Fast, even turf establishment that controls erosion and conserves water — a cost-effective alternative to sod.
Hydroseeding combines seed, mulch, fertilizer, and water into a single homogenous slurry that's sprayed evenly over prepared soil. The mulch holds moisture and seed in place, which gives you quick, uniform germination across the whole area.
It's a strong choice for larger areas and slopes: it reduces erosion, conserves water, and produces healthy, attractive turf that adds to your property's value — often at a lower cost than sod.
Common questions
- How long does hydroseed take to grow in?
- Germination typically starts within 1–2 weeks, with a mowable stand in about 4–6 weeks depending on weather and watering. Full density comes in over the first season.
- Hydroseed or sod — which should I choose?
- Hydroseed costs less and covers large areas and slopes well; sod gives an instant lawn. We quote both where either fits so you can compare cost against how fast you need finished turf.
- How much watering does hydroseed need?
- Frequent light watering through germination — keeping the mulch layer damp — then a gradual step-down as the stand matures. We leave you a simple watering schedule at completion.
