Thursday and Friday we moved the last part of the company, the office and servers, into our new building on Gratiot in Chesterfield, MI. If you’ve ever moved an entire business- equipment, tools, inventory, files, office equipment, furniture, etc., you know what a big job this has been. In spite of the herculean effort involved, there was a definite air of excitement about moving into new offices with new furniture, paint and carpet, and a shop that is at least 10 times bigger than the one we had before.
Monday morning we are still unpacking boxes and trying to find everything we need to get the business back up and running smoothly, but everyone here is kicking in and working patiently (for the most part) to achieve what we all know will be a new, exciting era in the company’s growing operations. As I sit here in my new office writing this I hear a lot more laughing and positivity around me than I have heard in a long time.
This move is a good thing for all involved- the ownership, management, employees and our clients, as well as the local economy. We’ll be buying fuel, food, supplies and services from a whole new set of vendors and businesses. In a couple weeks, when the dust settles, if you’re in the area, stop by and say hello to your new neighbors. We’ll let you know when the official grand opening is. Stay tuned to the website, blog and our Facebook page for upcoming events.
